Masterpiece
Tear drops rolled down her face
Glistening under the moonlight
The moon looked upon her plight
And beemed at her with grimace
The cold wind blowing away her meagre rays of hope
The pouring clouds draining her wishes of strength
The roaring thunder shattering her every dream
It was impossible, she knew she could never cope
“Its too much for me to take”, she mindlessly repeated
In loneliness lay her only consolation
Yet the world was too cruel, even to grant her isolation
She knew where she went wrong, too soon had she retreated
As she felt her eyes well up again
A faint but familiar silhouette appeared
Offered a hand and her mind cleared
The same reassuring smile, the way it all began
As the figure dissolved in the dark
She stood up and didn’t hesitate
After all it was her fate
She would live and smile for the smile’s sake
- She who does not wish to be named (2005)

Something’s happened
Whether it’s changing you or me
We’ll never know until it’s too late
You wandered the open fields
Closing in on a solitary flower
But something happened
which awoke your dormant desire
Giving you the strength
you never thought could come alive
A cool wind stirs around
the beads of sweat on your forehead
feel colder
reaching out for the flower
you can almost feel its beauty
tender and soft between your fingers
you don’t deserve that kind of beauty
the beauty of its elaborate petals
it can drive you to plain jealousy
with each petal you pluck
a shattered piece of your heart
fits back in place
once it’s whole again
the bed of roses surrounding you
will come to life

Shazzy finds immense pleasure in posting on this blog. Even when she should not be pulling herself away from the balance sheet and income statement in front of her. She wants to write the answers, she really does. Instead, she writes something that may be capable of being posted up.
So she posts.

You have a way with words
they don’t sting
just prick my conscience lightly
bittersweet
your smile has a way with me
it hides away
when i need it most
leaving a mere memory imprinted on my mind
bittersweet
your eyes, they dance
seemingly careless
but always knowing where to go next
and mesmerise
mine have a way too
they follow your lead
evoking all the
bittersweetness
that is us

Live!
listening to: high – lighthouse family
and so she lived…
…to see the light of day

A life time of
watching the world spin
on a table top
people walking
in different directions
but all the seats around me are
still
empty
when will
the other actors of life
come dancing in?
seasons change
leaves stir up
around me
seasons change
the leaves are now
settled around
me
the chaos is whisked
away with
the wind
who is that
i see?
someone sits
on a chair
closest to me
on
the only chair within
sight around
me
finally it’s
The End.

Stay
listening to: nishaan – Call
Stay with me
Don’t let the darkness consume us
This absence of light is only comforting
in the presence of you
stay with me
the world seems smaller
all those who loved me
are within reach
all that is there to harm me
keeps its distance
stay with me
my voice is heard
the mind is clear
perhaps only to be cluttered
with thoughts of us
stay with me
and i promise
i’ll stay with you too
